Special Science Programs and Competitions
Fundamentals of Science Research , sponsored by SUNY Albany University in the High School Program. Students choose independent study science projects. Sophomores research the topic to the level of a graduate student. The high school teacher facilitates a conversation between the student and a potential mentor in the field. Students begin learn laboratory techniques and practice specific skills. Juniors and Seniors enter science competitions locally and nationally. Competitions include: SEIMENS Westinghouse, INTEL-Science Talent Search, Westchester Rockland Junior Science Humanities Symposium, Westchester Science and Engineering Fair, and INTEL-ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair)
